Spring and Summer Road Construction Alerts

  • CenterPoint Energy and the City of Minneapolis are working on a number of improvement projects around the Capri this spring and summer.
  • The surface lot West of the Capri will be always be available for parking via West Broadway during this time.
  • Please check here for regular construction updates, and allow just a little extra time to park when coming to the Capri.

UPDATE — 5/24/18

Now – Mid-October:

  • Penn Avenue closed:
    • between Lowry and 26th Avenue N.
    • between 12th and 14th Avenue North
    • between 21st and 24th Avenue North
  • Detours are signed.

Closed now:

  • 23rd Avenue North between Penn and Queen
  • Logan Avenue North from West Broadway to Willow Avenue North

Now open:

  • 23rd Avenue between Penn and Oliver Avenue North
  • Oliver Avenue (parking between PCYC North/South Building and Capri).
  • Parking is also available in the surface lot just west and adjacent to the Capri – with entry points from West Broadway.


  • West Broadway is narrowed to two lanes as construction crews make the connection between Oliver and Logan Avenue.
  • In Golden Valley: Golden Valley Road at Bassett Creek Road will be closed starting June 4.




The Capri Theater is located at 2027 West Broadway, one block east from the intersection of West Broadway and Penn Avenue North.

Directions from I-394: Take the Penn Avenue exit and travel north past Golden Valley Road. Turn right on West Broadway, go one block and you’ll see the Capri on your right.

Directions from I-94: Exit on West Broadway and travel west past Morgan and Newton Avenues North. Go one more long block to the stoplight at the intersection of West Broadway and Logan Avenue North. You’ll see the Capri on your left.

Directions from Hwy. 100: Exit on Duluth Street and travel east. Duluth Street becomes Golden Valley Road. Continue heading east on Golden Valley Road and take a left on Penn Avenue North. Turn right on West Broadway Avenue, go one block and you’ll see the Capri on your right.
