First Thursday Films @ the Capri joined in the six-day celebration of the Capri’s rich history and bright future with a screening of If Beale Street Could Talk on Thursday, May 9, 2019, just before the theater closed for construction.  As always, the film was followed by a riveting conversation with audience members, a defining and distinctive characteristic of this series.

Thank you to our partner, the Film Society of Minneapolis St. Paul, for bringing this series to the Capri, and to all the staff members who’ve made our four-year partnership so enjoyable and rewarding.  And, of course, thanks to all our audience members for coming out to see the films.  It’s such a pleasure to have you here to see the films and engage in great discussions.

While the theater is closed, we will continue to show films on the Northside! Beginning this September, First Thursdays moves to North Community High School, 1500 James Avenue North in North Minneapolis.  Stay tuned for an announcement of our season of films, coming soon.

All of the rest of the Capri’s regular programming will also continue at alternate Northside locations.

In addition to keeping your eye on this website, the best way to keep up-to-date on construction and upcoming Capri events is to join the Capri’s email list HERE, or by texting CAPRITHEATER to 22828.

Thanks, one and all, for your support over the years and as we move forward.  -Exciting times @ the Capri!
