The strategic plan for the Capri calls for a commitment to youth development with a heavy emphasis on youth engagement woven into every aspect of Capri operations and programming.

Please note: The renovated, expanded Capri will open and youth programming will resume as soon as we’re able, in accordance with required COVID guidelines.

The Capri Theater’s vibrant youth arts and education programming currently includes the programs listed below. When the new Capri opens additional classrooms and activities will be available to scholars in PCYC’s Bright Futures K-5 After School Enrichment program, PYC Arts & Technology High School, and young people and families throughout the community.

We look forward to the day when we can all Be @ the Capri together again. For regular programming updates visit the Capri’s Facebook page and sign up to receive our emails.

The Capri is owned and operated by PCYC.

Capri After School Theater (CAST): A year-long program for high school-age youth under the artistic direction of Kevin D. West. CAST students delve into all aspects of theater and produce performances at the end of each semester during the school year.

The Best Buy Teen Tech Center @ the Capri (opening in 2021) is committed to preparing teens from PYC Arts & Technology High School and throughout our community for the tech-reliant jobs of the future. Teens prepare for these careers through hands-on experience with audio and video production, 3D printing, robotics and circuitry, coding and computer programming, photography, graphic design and more.

Summer Camp Capri: A five-week arts camp for middle school-age youth dedicated to students’ personal growth through a broad range of experiences in the arts.  Summer Camp Capri runs for five weeks starting in early July and running through early August each year.

The Capri Apprentice program offers high school-age students a terrific hands-on opportunity to learn how to run a professional theater. Apprentices gain knowledge and skills in front-of-house operations and work with experienced Capri staff members to create a first-rate experience for everyone who passes through the Capri’s doors, all with the goal of getting ready for the future.

Camp Capri: Middle schoolers meet to explore the arts on the third Saturday of every month during the school year. Talented guest artists lead the students in a wide range of artful, fun activities including dance, theater, music, spoken word, the visual arts and more.

Freedom of Xpression Open Mic: Students are encouraged to Be Xpressive! and bring their art to the Capri stage on the first Monday of every month during the school year. All ages. All genres.
